Do I Have A Case? Find Out For Free.
First Accident?
Just like you, most of our clients have never been in an accident before. You may be worried that the insurance company is not telling you the truth, or that something just isn’t right. You don’t have to be confused. With the help of an attorney, you can get answers to your questions and peace of mind—that’s what we’re here for.
Having a lawyer on your side means you can relax knowing your best interests are protected. Don’t take chances and don’t guess about how to deal with your accident.
Here are some steps you can follow after your accident:
- Talk to the Police
Get a copy of the police report. If a police officer came to the scene, get his name and badge number. If the police didn’t come to the scene, you may have to go to the police station to pick up the report or file a report there. This information can be useful in your case. - Collect the Facts
- Try to get the names, addresses, phone numbers, and any other contact information for anyone who was involved in or witnessed your wreck.
- Get the insurance information for the other parties involved. This may be listed in the police report, but if not, it’s helpful to have that information on hand.
- Draw a diagram or write a detailed description of the car wreck. Make sure you note the lane and direction you were traveling, as well as the direction and lane of any other vehicles involved.
- See Your Doctor!
Even if you don’t think you need to see a doctor, we advise all of our clients who have been in a car wreck to see a physician as soon as possible because some injuries take time to present themselves. We also recommend that you keep in-depth notes about how you feel after the accident, your recovery process, and any instructions your doctor gave you. - Call Daniel Stark
