The Waco Tribune reported that the 16-year-old driver of a vehicle involved in a Waco auto accident last year will receive five years’ probation for the death of his friend who was killed in the accident.

The Waco car accident occurred in the parking lot of a movie theater when the boy driving a jeep Cherokee swerved and stopped, causing his friend who was “surfing” on the roof of the vehicle to fall off.

The Texas auto accident victim died days later in a hospital as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.

A judge gave the 16-year-old driver, who has suffered post-traumatic stress syndrome following the death of his friend, five years of probation.
