There are hundreds of contributing factors that can be reported as the cause for a motor vehicle collision, but one of those is defective highway design. Such problems can include improper maintenance or defective design of a road, along with improper signage or safety equipment. The Bryan Car Accident Lawyers with Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers explain these problems are being addressed at one particularly dangerous intersection in Grimes County, Texas.
According to an article from KBTX 3 News, plans are being created by the Texas Department of Transportation to develop an overpass at the crossing of Highway 30 and FM 244 in the town of Carlos. Officials say the project is vital, considering the number of accidents the location has been host to in the past.
The most recent collision occurred on New Year’s Eve when a 65-year-old motorist attempted to enter traffic at the crossing and was broadsided by an oncoming bread truck that did not have time to stop. In the last five years though, there have been eight other similar crashes.
Now, officials wish to build an overpass that will prevent traffic from having to cross at the location.
Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers and their team of Bryan Personal Injury Attorneys applaud the actions being taken to improve highway safety in the region and hope to see more such efforts in the future!
