According to KVUE News, officers began pulling drivers over for distracted driving infractions in Austin on Feb. 1. While most drivers received warning tickets, the costs associated with a violation can be high. First time offenders will pay a fine of $220, and late payments can bump fines to $295. Drivers who choose to fight the ticket in court and lose may be fined between $100-$500.
