A drunk driver caused a four-vehicle collision late last week in Texas. The Highlander stated the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday along the westbound lanes of TX 71, between Paleface Ranch Road and Spicewood, Texas.

Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety say a 44-year-old Austin, Texas, man was behind the wheel of a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup truck while impaired when he was unable to bring his vehicle to a stop behind a 2011 Jeep SUV in front of him. The pickup truck collided with the side of the Jeep. The impact of the Texas car accident caused the driver of the Ram to lose control of the vehicle and veer into the oncoming lane of traffic where he also struck a 2011 Kia Sorento and a 2007 Ford pickup. The Dodge truck then went down the side of an embankment.

A total of seven motorists required transportation to local hospitals as a result of injuries sustained in the Texas car accident. Meanwhile, the driver of the Dodge Ram was placed under arrest. He now faces several charges, including DWI.

The Austin Personal Injury Lawyers with Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers recognize the dangers drunk drivers not only pose to themselves, but all other motorists who share the road with them. That is why the firm suggests looking into your legal options if you have been injured in an accident caused by a drunk driver.
