Getting hit by a car can be traumatic and injurious alone, but tragedy struck after a man was hit by two different vehicles.

The Austin auto accidents occurred on FM 969 near Highway 183 when a vehicle struck the man’s Buick LeSabre in the rear and drove away. Investigators suggest that the man exited his car to inspect the damage when the second Austin auto accident occurred, according to KXAN.

The second time, a red Dodge Ram struck the man and also fled the scene of the Austin auto accident.

The driver of the Dodge was apprehended and charged with driving while intoxicated during the Austin auto accident.

The identity of the Austin auto accident victim has not been released, pending notification of family.
