The Star Telegram reported that seven, including two Texas police officers, were injured in a chain reaction of collisions in Texas Saturday afternoon when a man suspected of driving while intoxicated ran a red light and hit a car.

The Texas police officers and four other motorists were taken to hospitals to be treated for injuries, while one man was treated on the scene of the Texas auto accident.

The driver of a Volkswagen fled the scene when police officers tried to administer a field sobriety test on Denton Highway.

The man, who set off the chain reaction of Texas car accidents by striking a vehicle when he ran a red light, causing a van to flip, is being held in Haltom City Jail.
