This weekend the 16th Annual Chilifest in Snook, Texas. For most, the event is a chance to experience some of the best chili in our state and hear some great music.
Bands like Reckless Kelly, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and The Marshall Tucker Band will be on hand to play. The event will also feature a chili cook-off that boasts more than $1,700 in prizes for the winning teams.
While Chilifest has some great entertainment lined up, an article from KBTX News says organizers of the event and local law enforcement have raised their concerns about the potential for drunk driving. After all, patrons are allowed to bring their own alcohol to the event on Friday as long as beverages aren’t in glass containers.
To help keep attendees safe, the Texas car accident lawyers with Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers would like to offer a few tips:
- Moderation Is Key– The Chilifest takes place over several days and it takes your body time to process alcohol, so be sure not to drink too much too fast.
- Stay Hydrated– The weather will be hot and humid this weekend, so be sure to drink plenty of water, as dehydration can exacerbate the effects of alcohol on your body.
- Don’t Drink and Drive– At an event like Chilifest, everything you need should be available on the festival grounds. There is no need to get behind the wheel of a vehicle if you’ve been drinking.
The Texas personal injury lawyers with Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers hope these tips help you to have a fun and safe time at Chilifest this weekend!
