It’s no secret that the construction industry in the United States is one of the most dangerous lines of work you can do. Data from the U.S. National Library of Medicine shows construction to be the second leading industry in the nation when it comes to workplace fatalities. Also, Texas had the highest number of occupational deaths in in 2012, accounting for the loss of 105 construction worker lives.
The risks Texas construction workers face were highlighted by a video that shows the collapse of a structure at a construction site that claimed the life of one worker and left three others with construction zone injuries.
The incident occurred at 7:39 a.m. on the morning of April 2 at the site of a new indoor sports facility that was being built on the campus of Argyle High School. Crews were working on the frame of the structure when it suddenly collapsed. According to an article from NBC 5 News, investigators are still working to determine the cause of the collapse.
