Ice cream is a popular summer treat, but consumers with tree nut allergies who consumed a particular flavor of Kroger ice cream may experience a health threat instead.

According to KBTX, Kroger Deluxe Chocolate Paradise Ice Cream is a Texas defective product because it contains allergens not listed on the container. These allergens could cause life-threatening health conditions for consumers who are allergic to tree nuts.

Only containers with a Jan. 24 sell-by date are affected by the Texas defective product recall. Consumers who purchased the Texas defective product should return it to Kroger for an exchange or refund.
