The Houston Chronicle reported that a Texas fire accident killed a 5-year-old girl and injured two others Sunday.

Family members escaped the fire when they realized the 5-year-old girl was still inside the home.

The girl died at a local hospital as a result of her Texas burn injuries. Another woman believed to be the girl’s aunt suffered Texas burn injuries to her feet, arms, and hands.

A neighbor who attempted to rescue someone in the home suffered smoke inhalation when he propped a ladder against a window of the burning home.

The fire and the alleged arsonist who had a longstanding feud with his family members are still under investigation.
