Children face many dangers, but one that never seems to go away is the problems associated with drug use. Now a new drug trend may be giving parents greater cause to worry.

According to KBTX, children, some of whom haven’t reached the teen years yet, may be bringing ordinary items to school in their backpacks and getting high, which could lead to Texas drug injuries.

Items that are not necessarily illegal can be used to give kids a high. Some teens dip cigarettes in cough syrup and smoke them, others soak tampons in alcohol and take them vaginally or rectally for a high, and still others use prescription drugs; however, all of these methods can lead to serious Texas drug injuries.
