A Corpus Christi, Texas, tow truck company has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by a man who claims he was seriously injured after being involved in an accident with one of the company’s vehicles. According to Action 10 News, the crash happened in July 2010 around 4:30 p.m., along Highway 181.
Reports indicate that the driver of the tow truck was speeding when he collided with the victim’s vehicle, leaving a passenger in that car permanently disabled.
The Texas Car Accident lawsuit claims that the driver of the tow truck, as well as the company he worked for, exhibited several negligent behaviors that led to the crash. Numerous email alerts were sent to the company saying that the driver was speeding before the crash, yet no effort was made by the company to stop him. In all, GPS monitoring systems showed more than 11,000 speeding related infractions committed by the company in the year prior to the accident.
Toxicology tests also showed that the tow truck’s driver had illicit drugs in his system at the time of the crash.
The victim is seeking an undisclosed amount to cover medical bills and other costs associated with the accident.
The Austin personal injury lawyers with Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers would like to wish the victim the best of luck with his case and hope that it will bring some closure to the victim and his family.
