The Texas Truck Accident Lawyers with Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers explain that collisions involving tractor-trailers can often have devastating results because of the size and weight of the vehicle involved. This was seen in a recent collision that occurred in Troy, Texas, which left a total of thirteen victims seriously injured.
An article from KWTX 10 News stated the incident occurred this past Thursday at approximately 9:00 p.m., near the corner of Main Street and a frontage road running parallel with I-35.
Reports from investigators indicate a bus was transporting a local middle school football team through the intersection when the driver of a tractor-trailer failed to yield the right-of-way at a flashing red light. The vehicles did not have time to avoid a collision and crashed into one another. The impact of the accident caused the buses driver to be thrown from the vehicle, causing him to suffer multiple broken bones and internal injuries. Nine student-athletes, two other coaches, and the truck driver all suffered injuries requiring hospitalization as well.
A similar incident occurred on September 16, when a dump truck veered into the path of another school bus traveling along an I-35 frontage road, injuring 15 students.
